Pedestrian is an ongoing street performance series. Performances began on May 27th 2020.

Pedestrians, and the infrastructure designed to guide and protect them have become a mundane part of our urban landscapes. Each of my performances explores a new way to make the pedestrian more visible through costume, props and movement.

I created this work because I was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in 2012. The incident left me with a short-term head injury and long-term PTSD. Crossing the street became an incredibly stressful action for me. This project serves a dual purpose. One purpose is to bring attention to the crosswalk, the value of the pedestrians crossing the street and the unequal power dynamic between a driver and pedestrians.  The second, is as art therapy, to help me deal with my everyday struggle through humor!

This is an ongoing and evolving performance work with no set end date. Please join me in this journey by subscribing to my mailing list below or follow my on Instagram at @pedestrian_art.
